Oslo
We spent much of yesterday down on an island in the Oslo fjord at a summer house of one of Kristen's Norwegian relatives. Connor, Reade and I swam in the fjord -- very cold, but not intolerable -- and the kids played tennis on clay courts with their distant cousins. The island is a short ferry ride off the mainland, then we walked across it (only a kilometer or so) to find their cabin. Connor got a photo of the Wexels family flag -- a white unicorn on a field of sky blue. Fun stuff.
Today we're going back to downtown Oslo to see the 13th century fortress Aukerhus, do some shopping and see the old church where Connor and Reade's gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather was the minister. Tomorrow? Who knows.
The weather is fantastic -- very sunny, from very early until very late with a long dusk-dawn between midnight and 4 a.m., and quite warm -- shorts and t-shirts. The scenery is amazing. Bye again.
