Peter Pan

So Connor and I went west for a week at the end of June to take part in the summer theater camp with the Upper Valley Connection, an agency that serves the recreation and social needs of special needs kids around Leavenworth, Wash, including our nephew/cousin Daniel. We helped put on "Peter Pan," with Eric being the crocodile chasing Cap'n Hook, and Connor playing Peter's shadow and then filling in a with a wide variety of sound effects and percussion for the rest of the play. My brother was Mr. Smee and Daniel was both Nana the dog and Blackbeard the pirate and his brother Nick was the music director and their mom Terry was the producer.

It was an amazing week hanging out and working with and learning from about 23 or 24 amazing people, plus another 30 so-called 'normal' people who were there to help out with everything a play like that needs. Plus it was a lot of fun riding bikes, jumping off bridges into the river, playing guitars, and Connor and I had a great time on the three-day drive up through Wyoming and Montana and Idaho to get there, and the long two days (including a 763 mile day) coming home via Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming.

Some photos from the road....
